The Gates family are about to welcome their third baby, and they couldn't be more excited. With two big sisters and parents as cool and fun as these, this little guy is going to be smiling nonstop! Can't wait to meet him!
For those of you who aren't familiar, I am a featured photographer for Red Thread Sessions- an organization that donates family sessions to adoptive families. It's something I am so incredibly proud to be a part of. To be the one to document a family that has chosen to give a child a home full of love and security is something I am grateful for beyond words.
Here is a peek at my first session for this incredible organization- with the Jacobs family. They waited eighteen months to bring him home from Korea. I can't even imagine what that must be like- to know your child is out there, to be ready to show him love, to go to bed every night wishing you were tucking him in, and to not know when you'll have him with you. It's the definition of the endurance and power of a parent's love.
Enjoy these first images of their new family, and if you know someone who is adopting, please send them over to Red Thread Sessions.
I set Alyssa up.
On our High School varsity volleyball team, I was setter and Alyssa was our middle hitter. (By the way, Deanna, our last bride, was our second setter- it's been a fantastic month for San Pedro Pirate reunions!)
In high school, Alyssa was the strong, confident, self-assured atheletic girl that everyone was intimidated by (in the best of ways).
So it only stands to reason that now, so many years later, she would end up with a strong, confident, funny husband, and an independent strong-willed hilarious little girl. I was so incredibly honored and excited to take these family photos for her as she awaits her second baby.
Love you guys- can't wait to meet #2!
Well, the heat index is rising, the ice cream truck is starting to circle, and the kids are getting restless. It must be almost summertime!

Someone alert the media! I am shooting and blogging SAME-DAY! Don't get spoiled by today's productivity level- I'm just trying to get things done around here so I can actually take tomorrow off and focus on my own neglected children, and be ready to fly to Cancun to shoot a destination wedding on Thursday! Enough about me, let's see those adorable kids! Chandler and Matilda are pretty much model baby status. They have incredible parents, who let them grow and play and discover the world. They've discovered they like berries. (Hey, me too!) So we went for it. Enjoy these cuties and show some love with a sweet comment!
